As the science teacher for the Middle School, I am happy to be here at Christ King School.
I belong to a family of many teachers. Originally from the Chicago area, I am a product of 16 years of Catholic education. I came to Milwaukee to attend Cardinal Stritch University where I got my teaching degrees in secondary education and science. At Stritch I met my husband, Daryl. Daryl is currently the Pastoral Associate at St. James in Menomonee Falls. We now have been married over 35 years!
First I taught chemistry at the high school level at St. Mary’s Academy in Milwaukee. Then I left teaching for a time while I raised my two children, Rebecca and Daryl, Jr.
When I returned to teaching, I taught at St. John the Evangelist School in Greenfield, teaching 5th – 8th grade science for 8 years. After that, I went to my home parish and taught at St. Rita School in West Allis for the next 7 years, teaching science to grades 7 and 8 with a 7th grade homeroom. Finally, I came here to Christ King School in August, 2003.
My daughter Rebecca is now married and lives in Franklin with her husband, Kevin. They have blessed me with two fantastic grandchildren, Owen and Leah, whom I enjoy babysitting very much!
My son, Daryl, Jr., is a lawyer and is currently working as a clerk for a federal judge here in Milwaukee. He recently married his high school sweetheart, Laurel.
I love teaching science to middle school children. I teach with a great number of hands-on activities to many learning styles. I hope my teaching methods will keep the enthusiasm level for learning science very high at Christ King. I believe the students will leave our school with a well-rounded science background that prepares them well for high school science and to become scientifically-literate adults in today’s society. God has given us a magnificent world around us, and I pray that I can instill love of that Earth into all my students.
Let’s continue to learn together and enjoy science throughout this coming year! |
