I began teaching in Catholic schools in 1969 right after graduating from St. Louis University. I spent the first six years of my career working in elementary schools in St. Louis and Milwaukee. I ended my first elementary career as principal of Holy Assumption Grade School in West Allis.
In 1975, I started teaching at Marquette High School, my alma mater (Class of 64). That started my 36 years of working in Jesuit schools: as a teacher and administrator at Marquette High; as the coordinator of projects for Jesuit high schools of the Midwest, and as the president of Nativity Jesuit Middle School.
I now begin my second career in elementary education as the principal of Christ King Grade School. I am thrilled to be working with the K4 students all the way up to the middle school students. Since I am at the grandparent stage of life, this gives me a great perspective on what and how my grandchildren are learning. It also keeps me in contact with the young adolescents as they prepare themselves for high school.
I am incredibly impressed with the CK community the students and teachers, the parents, the parish staff, and the people of the parish -- a most welcoming and supportive group of faith-filled people!
My goal is to continue building on the strengths of CK as a parish school. Working with the faculty and staff, we hope to maintain the high academic standards of the school and continue to develop young men and women who will be recognized as true Christian leaders. Jesus said that people should recognize his followers by the way they show love to one another. Lets strive to have the Tosa/Milwaukee community recognize all of our grads by this: See how they love and care for others!
