I have come full circle working at Christ King. I started out my education here at Christ King when things were very different. I earned a degree in Elementary Education and was working on my school library license. I was eager to begin teaching though, so I took a job teaching fifth grade at St. Anthony’s in Milwaukee. I also taught first and second grades at St. Rita’s in West Allis. While living in Michigan, I had planned on returning to school to get my masters in Library Science, but a transfer back to Wisconsin and three small children changed all that. I was very eager to move back home. I began working part time in the Elmbrook School District, working with emergent readers who were in need of extra help. I also substitute taught, was a classroom aide, and helped out in the school library. When my youngest child started school, I became the school librarian at St. Joseph’s in Wauwatosa. For the past thirteen years, I was the school librarian, assistant principal, and substitute teacher when needed here at Christ King. I am very excited to be working in the office this year! |
