As long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. Even on career day back in the second grade I would dress up and pretend that I was an educator who would change the way teaching was presented in the classroom. It wasn’t until middle school, when I truly decided to make it a career because of a teacher I had. Right then and there I knew my goal was to one day teach nothing but math at the middle school level and make a difference in the lives of many.
I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 2006 with honors and a BA in Elementary Education (1-8) with minors in Mathematics and Social Studies. From there I was blessed to teach on the Northwest side of Milwaukee at St. Catherine of Alexandria for two years where I taught middle school math and English.
In my free time I enjoy relaxing, listening to a variety of music, and being around friends and family; including my two pet rabbits. When I get a chance, I enjoy traveling and visiting new places as well as shopping. As of this year, I have become a huge Brewer’s fan and cheer on the team at their home games as well as watching them play on television.
Attending St. Margaret Mary grade school and Divine Savior Holy Angels High School has taught me the value in a catholic education. I vow to instill upon my students that God is wonderful and has a purpose for everyone in life, as well as to take pride in wanting a higher education that opens doors to endless possibilities.
I am grateful for the opportunity to teach at Christ King and become part of a strong family with dedication that enables nothing but the best in a child’s education through Christian values, higher leveled thinking, and creative application methods. I am truly passionate about teaching math at the middle school level and always tell my students that, “Math is everywhere and a part of your daily life.” I truly expect them to understand that they are learning a subject that is part of their daily routine and every skill is used throughout their lives.
